ADVENT BEGINS ON NOVEMBER 30,2025

Advent is a beautiful and prayerful season that not only marks the beginning of our Church year but also prepares us to celebrate the Nativity of the Lord at Christmas. The Advent season is a period of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lord’s birth on Christmas. The final days of Advent, from December 17 to December 24, focus particularly on our preparation for the celebrations of the Nativity of our Lord (Christmas). The liturgical color for Advent is purple, just like Lent—as both are seasons that prepare us for great feast days. Also, Advent (like Lent) includes an element of penance in the sense of preparing, quieting, and disciplining our hearts for the full joy of Christmas.

Wednesday, December 24 - Christmas Eve
4:00 pm Mass with Children’s Choir in Church
            Carols and songs begin at 3:30 pm
4:15 pm* 'Overflow' Mass in the Community Center
(if necessary, Communion will be distributed in the Community Center) 
6:00 pm Mass with Life Teen Band
8:00 pm Misa en español (Spanish)
11:00 pm Mass during the Night with choir, organ & brass
             Carols and songs begin at 10:30 pm

*No incense

Wednesday, December 24 - Friday, December 26: The Parish Office will close at noon on Wednesday, December 24 and will reopen Monday, December 29 at 9:00 am  

Wednesday, January 1: Office closes at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 31, and reopens Friday, January 2 at 9:00 am

Christmas Poinsettia Dedications

Remember a loved one, or Honor someone special by purchasing one of the beautiful poinsettias that adorn our worship space during this Christmas season.  We hope that having a poinsettia in memory or in honor of your loved ones will bring joy and peace to you and to all who come to St. Cecilia Church. to celebrate the Christmas Season. 

Download the Poinsettia Memorial Order form to the left and return it to the Parish Office with $10 per plant included. You may also complete the form online.
