Pastoral Care
Our Mission Statement for the Pastoral Care Ministry reads:
To be an instrument of God's healing love and presence to those experiencing crisis or
any life challenges.
Mindful of this mission, St. Cecilia Catholic Community offers Christian fellowship, prayer and the Eucharist to those who are sick
and homebound in our Community.
"If one member suffers in the body of Christ, which is the
church, all the members suffer with that member" (1 Corinthians 12:26)
For this reason, those who are baptized into Christ and nourished at the same table of the Lord are responsible
for one another. When Christians are sick, their brothers and sisters share a ministry of mutual charity.
As Christians, we are exhorted to do all that we can to help the sick person return to health by a show of
love for them, and by celebrating the sacraments with them.
The community of St. Cecilia shows solicitude for our sick and homebound by visiting and praying with them. We provide
support by raising them up through the sacrament of annointing and by nourishing them with the Eucharist when they are ill or in
danger of death.
When a parishioner is seriously ill or confined to the home, please call Lettie Gillespie at 713-465-3414 or email her at
lgillespie@saintcecilia.org. We will pray for them,
bring the Eucharist, or, if necessary, arrange for a priest to administer the Sacrament of Annointing or celebrate Viaticum.
The Parish Community wants to visit all, whether at home or hospitalized.
Please notify us as soon as possible so that we may pray for your sick relative and
respond to your needs...
