Father John Cahoon, J.C.L., Pastor

Father John Cahoon was born in San Diego, California on February 14,
1957. Father Cahoon attended Sacred Heart Catholic School for 1st
and 2nd grade and St. Francis De Sales School for 3rd through 8th
grade. He attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory High School
and then received a B.A. in Political Science at the University of
Houston. He graduated from South Texas College of Law in May
1982 and received his law license the following year. He entered the
seminary in the fall of 1984 and was ordained to the priesthood
on May 20, 1989. His first assignment after ordination was to St.
Cecilia Catholic Church. In the summer of 1992, he went to St.
Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he served as pastor for
almost 10 years. During this time, he also received a license
in Canon law from Catholic University of America. He returned to
St. Cecilia as pastor in the summer of 2002. In addition to his duties
as pastor of St. Cecilia, Fr. Cahoon serves on the Diocesan Tribunal.

Fr. Jaimon Kurian Pathiyil , O.S.H.

Fr.Jaimon Kurian OSH is our new priest from the religious order of the Oblates of Sacred Heart.  Fr. Jaimon was born in Idukki, Kerala India on Nov.1, 1976.  Having completed his school education, he entered the seminary in 1992.  He earned his B.Ph. and B.Th. from St.Joseph’s Pontifical College, Alwaye, India.  He also received a B.A from the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala.  He was ordained to the Priesthood on December 27, 2003.  After ordination, for his ardent desire, he was sent to Assam in North India for missionary work.  There, he served as seminary Rector, teacher in the school, and director of the School of Agriculture and Rural Dvpt.  As part of his hazardous ministry, he had a near-death experience and so went back to the South.  Later in the Diocese of Thuckalay, he served as pastor, and director of a mission region.  By this time he started his M.A in English but could not complete it as he was called to St. Cecilia.  He reached the United States on June 6, 2007 and was appointed as Parochial Vicar at St. Cecilia.

Father Vicente Agila

Father Vicente, born in Ecuador on April 5, 1967, attended the University of Guayaquil in Ecuador where he received his degree in Clinical Psychology.  He later attended the Seminary of Our Lady of Hope in Ibarra Ecuador and was ordained to the priesthood on May 30, 1991.  Father Vicente was involved in various family and youth ministries in Ecuador, including the television show “Mensaje” and the talk show “Senderos” through Ecuavisa.  Father Vicente came to our parish in 2006 to minister to our Hispanic community.  He is a valued member of our pastoral staff.


El padre Vicente nació en Ecuador el 5 de abril de 1967.  Asistió a la Universidad de Guayaquil, donde recibió su título en Psicología Clínica.  Luego, asistió al seminario de Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza en la cuidad de Ibarra, Ecuador, y fue ordenado al sacerdocio el 30 de mayo de 1991.  En el Ecuador, estuvo involucrado en varios ministerios familiares y de la juventud, así como exponiendo mensajes televisados que incluyen “Mensajes” y el discurso “Senderos” televisados por ECUAVISA.  Vino a nuestra parroquia en el año 2006 como ministro de nuestros miembros hispanos.  Es un miembro valorado de nuestra comunidad pastoral.

Father Jacques Weber, S.J.

Father Jacques is a Jesuit priest, 84 years old, and a native of
New Orleans, Louisiana. He entered the Jesuits in 1936 and was
ordained in 1949. He loves the Scriptures and his ministry revolves
around "preaching the Word". He says his great love is "the
community of St. Cecilia's" and his number one recommendation
to people his age is "staying alive as long as you live".

Deacon Don Bradley

Born in Jersey City, N.J. Deacon Don and wife Lilly have 5 living children
(1 is deceased) and have been registered in the parish since 1953. He
was ordained to the Permanent Deaconate in 1975 and is involved in the
following ministries:

Deacon Greg Evans

Deacon Greg, his wife Jo, and two children Ashley and Jenn,
have been parishioners since 1991. He is a Certified Financial
Planner with an MBA from St. Thomas, and an MS from College
for Financial Planning. He was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate
in 2003 and is an invaluable asset in the Sunday liturgies
and staff planning functions.

Deacon Sam Mancuso

Sam was born and raised in Michigan but has been in Texas for over twenty years.  He has been active at St. Cecilia since 1983.  He was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate in 2007.  Sam and his wife, Jane, have three children: Julia, Victoria and Aden.

Deacon Bob Hesse, Ph.D.

During his six years of studying for the priesthood, Bob Hesse was inspired by the Gethsemani Trappist monastery, at the time home to Thomas Merton.  Deacon Bob has many credentials including being Co-founder/President of Contemplative Outreach (CO) Network, Inc. dedicated to interdenominational Christian contemplative prayer.  Bob was appointed by Trappist monk Thomas Keating, as Commissioned Presenter/Co-coordinator of CO Ltd. and Emissary to the M&L Institute for Research on Contemplatives in response to an invitation by The Dalai Lama to Keating. Dr. Hesse is a Board and Faculty Member of the Institute for Spirituality and Health and an Instructor at Rice University.  Bob is a Member of Deacon Spiritual Life and Community Committees.  He is a Retreat Master for Holy Name Retreat Center and founding Advisor for The WorkFaith Connection.  In addition to being a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Bob is also a Speaker for the Rothko Chapel, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and the Bowen Center. Dr. Hesse is Co-founder of the Faith-Science Initiative for the Center for Faith and Culture at the University of St. Thomas (UST).  Deacon Hesse's interests include the convergence of science and religion within physics-metaphysics, chemistry-life, biology-consciousness, and psychology-mysticism.  His special interest is in healing those suffering from mental illness.  Bob has given numerous presentations internationally and holds a B.Th. in theology from UST, as well as a B.S. in Chemistry and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from St. Louis University. Deacon Bob is currently President/Founder of the energy consulting company HEI.  He has traveled to over 60 countries often establishing international consortia.  Deacon Bob has been married 42 years to Linda; they have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
